Human chiropractic

Chiropractic care is a natural, drug-free therapy that aims to improve the performance, health, and general well-being of patients. We focus on restoring and maintaining correct movement and function by using a range of techniques addressing the muscles, joints, and nerves within the body (not just your spine!).

What are the benefits?

Chiropractic care can directly impact how we function in day to day living. Just some of the ways it does this is by:

– Reducing pain and inflammation
– Improving mobility through joints
– Increasing strength and flexibility in muscles
– Optimising function of the central nervous system

We also know that pain may cause an increase level of stress in the body, which can affect mood, concentration, and usual sleep patterns. Keeping your body functioning optimally and pain free is a great way to reduce unnecessary stress in our lives.

A M Chiropractic firmly believes in treating the body as a whole. This means not only do we focus on your area of pain, but also all the areas around it. Ensuring we treat the cause of the problem and not just the symptoms helps you get back to your optimum without reoccurrences.

Some of the conditions we can treat include:
-Back pain
-Neck pain
-Headaches caused by neck problems
-Migraine prevention
-Sciatica
-Shoulder problems
-Jaw problems
-Hip pain
-Elbow pain
-Osteoarthritis – including knee pain
-Muscle aches and spasms
-Pain during pregnancy
-Plantar fasciitis
-Sports injuries and prevention

It is also possible to see a Chiropractor for other injuries, general postural and ergonomic advice,
rehabilitation, managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions, or to check your body is moving and
functioning optimally – preventing these problems occurring in the first place!

Paediatrics

Research shows that around 90% of babies go through some sort of birth trauma, even in the most natural births. This trauma may be in the uterus, birth canal or post partum, and could result in muscle soreness or tightness.

Some presentations include discomfort laying on their back, crying excessively, or have difficulty breastfeeding and latching on. You may notice that your baby can’t turn their head equally to
both sides, adopts a “banana” shape, has a flatter head on one side or has difficulty opening their mouth after a tongue-tie.

These are all commonly treated with paediatric chiropractic care – as well as helping to sooth your baby, improve sleep and reduce colic symptoms.

Treatment is very different to an adults, it is soft and gentle using a light “touch and hold” technique, which applies only the same amount of pressure as you would comfortably use over your own eyeball.

We believe all babies can benefit from a chiropractic check up to help ensure optimal movement and help reach their milestones. It is always so great to see how quickly and effectively they respond to treatment!
